"It's the summer of '69.
Tempers and temperatures start to rise when a routine police raid on an illegal queer hot-spot erupts into a full scale riot that would become the impetus for the modern gay rights movement.
Follow ten unlikely revolutionaries as they turn up the heat, take to the streets, and riot to assert their rights. A live rock-and-roll band provides the screaming soundtrack to this remixed retelling of the myth and the moral behind the epic riots at The Stonewall Inn."

The Earl

THE EARL
February 2-March 2, 2011
At The Red Orchid Theatre

Written by Brett Neveu
Directed by Duncan Riddell

The Inconvenience remounted Brett Neveu’s fast and furious 2006 play to great reviews and sold-out houses at A Red Orchid Theatre.  The gritty and grungy urban-epic featured company members Walter Briggs, Ryan Bourque and Chris Chmelik as three brothers in the grip of a deadly game.  Danny Goldring gave a shocking and hilarious performance as the title character; The Earl received a 4-star “Show of the Week” notice by Timeout, and was extended into March.

Art: Several artists from around the city submitted pieces that matched the violence, hijinks and gritty nature of Brett Neveu’s The Earl.  The pieces were presented as a gallery in A Red Orchid Theatre’s lobby for the duration of the shows 4 week run.  Artists included Chance Bone, Mary Williamson, Sierra Default and Brian Rad.
